Her name is Yuxin, and she tragically suffers from a rare skin disease that makes her look prematurely old.
Yuxin is currently a patient at a hospital in the city of Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province in central China.
Over eight million people live in the city, but Yuxin looks one of a kind. Her face is wrinkly and her cheeks saggy.
Sources say that skin elsewhere on her body is even looser than it is on her face.
The young girl seems happy and playful in her pictures, but unfortunately, those close to her find her looks troubling.
“She looks like an old woman. Last time I took her to visit a doctor, another kid saw her,became very scared and cried heavily,” Cao Niu, her grandmother, told photographers.
The little girl suffers from Curtis Laxa, one of her doctors told Cao, according to photo agency Rex USA.
Curtis Laxa means “Loose Skin” in Latin, and is a disorder of the body’s connective tissue. These tissues make up the supportive framework of the body and help to give form to muscles, joints and skin.
Unfortunately, Curtis Laxa has some very serious side effects. It can cause abnormal narrowing, bulging or even tearing of crucial arteries.
These problems seem present in Yuxin, who reportedly has a very weak health.
“She has a congenital heart disease, pneumonia and asthma, which recurs again and again” Cao said.
