According to eye-witness accounts, the accident happened on Tuesday afternoon after driving her posh Toyota SUV into a pillar at the Teachers’ Hall in Accra.
Shortly after the accident, Gyan’s mum, Cecilia Amoako was rushed to the Ridge Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to an eyewitness account, Madam Amoako, a teacher, lost control of the car’s steering wheel which led to her death at the hospital in the west African country’s capital, Accra.
No official statement has been released by the Al-Ain striker’s family, but the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the Ridge Hospital morgue.
